These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Northstar, including its website, goal-planning tools, vision features, AI companion, and related services. By creating an account or using Northstar, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Northstar helps people organize goals, reflect, and take manageable steps toward the lives they want to build. It does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. AI-generated responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not replace qualified professional care or your own judgment.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, the security of your sign-in credentials, and activity under your account. You agree not to:
Northstar's original software, visual design, logo, written content, AI orchestration, prompt templates, organization, and branding are owned by Northstar or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Northstar grants you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, sublicense, distribute, create a substantially similar competing copy from protected Northstar materials, or reverse engineer protected server-side services except where applicable law expressly permits it. You may not use the Northstar name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without written permission.
You retain ownership of the goals, reflections, messages, and images you submit. You give Northstar a limited permission to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the features you choose to use. You represent that you have the right to submit your content.
Northstar may send relevant information you provide to an AI service to generate plans, reflections, and responses. AI output is generated probabilistically and is not guaranteed to be correct, complete, unique, or suitable for every situation. Do not rely on Northstar for emergencies or professional decisions.
Northstar's Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you. By using Northstar, you acknowledge those practices.
Northstar is evolving and may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary to protect users, Northstar, or its providers.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northstar is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northstar will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
You may stop using Northstar at any time. Northstar may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these terms, security threats, abuse, or legal requirements. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property and limitation provisions, will survive.
If these terms change materially, the updated date will be revised and additional notice may be provided when appropriate. Continuing to use Northstar after updated terms take effect means you accept them.
